Questions

Straight answers.

Including the ones that are awkward for us. If something here is missing, ask — we would rather answer it before you spend money than after.

General

About working with us.

No. HomeWRX is residential only, by design. Homes and commercial buildings need different equipment, different service expectations and different people. We would rather be genuinely excellent at one than adequate at both.

Monitoring, updates, support and on-site visits — the ongoing care of the system. Plans start at $59 per month. Hardware and installation are quoted separately, per project.

No, but almost everyone does. A connected home is not an appliance you install and forget; apps change, manufacturers push firmware, and providers swap equipment. The plan is what keeps the system working in year three.

Frequently, yes. We start with an assessment of what is there, tell you what is sound and what is not, and give you a written path forward. There is no obligation to replace anything that is working.

Yes, and that is the ideal time to involve us. Getting wire in the walls before drywall costs a fraction of adding it afterwards, and it costs nothing to plan for capacity you may only want in five years.

The major residential brands across control, audio, video, networking and security. We are deliberately not tied to a single manufacturer — the right equipment depends on the house and the budget, not on who we buy from.

You do. Systems are specified so that you own the hardware, your recordings are stored locally, and you hold every credential. Nothing about our design is intended to lock you to us.

Send us a note describing the house and what you would like it to do. We will come back with questions, and if it looks like a fit, arrange a conversation. No obligation and no cost until you have a written design in hand.

Audio / Video

Home Theater & Video

No. A dedicated room gives you the most control, but the majority of what we build lives in ordinary living rooms and basements. The design changes; the standard does not.

Usually, yes. We will tell you honestly if a component is holding the rest of the system back, and what it would take to fix it, before you spend anything.

That is what the service plan is for. Firmware, app and platform changes are handled remotely, generally before you notice them.

Audio

Whole-Home Audio

Yes. Retrofit is most of what we do. We fish walls and ceilings with minimal cuts, and we patch and paint what we open.

Yes. Existing Sonos, AirPlay and Bluetooth gear can usually be folded into the new system rather than replaced.

Network

Home Networking

For email and one television, often yes. For a house running cameras, streaming, a home office and dozens of connected devices, a provider gateway is the single most common bottleneck we replace.

Not always, but where we can run a wire we will. It removes an entire category of future problem.

Security

Security & Surveillance

Not to us for the footage itself. Systems are built so live view and local recordings work without a per-camera subscription.

Often. If the existing hardware is sound we will build around it and tell you plainly which units are worth keeping.

Automation

Lighting & Automation

They work. Core lighting, shade and climate logic runs on a local processor. Losing the internet costs you remote access, not the ability to turn on a light.

No. Most homes start with two or three rooms that matter most and grow from there. The system is designed to be extended.
